FALL 2026 SCRI BASKETBALL

1ST - 4TH GRADE IN-HOUSE LEAGUES

SEASON: October 19 - December 19

We will be offering 4 in-house leagues this coming Fall:

1st-2nd Grade Girls 1st-2nd Grade Boys

3rd-4th Grade Girls 3rd-4th Grade Boys

We will begin practices the week following Sheridan Community Schools Fall Break.

Teams will have up to two practices and at least one game per week beginning the second week of the season.

TEAMS:

Players will be evaluated the first week of practice by the selected coaches, basketball committee and chair. Players will be split into equal teams based on skill and coaches will ensure even playing time to the players as much as possible.

PRACTICE

We will do our best to have a consistent practice schedule for the season. However, there may be some weeks in which there are events held at Sheridan Elementary School that will force us to change the schedule. Below is a tentative schedule for this upcoming fall season. Please remember that practices are subject to change.

1st-2nd Grade Girls: Mondays and Wednesdays 5:30-6:30

3rd-4th Grade Girls: Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30-7:30

1st-2nd Grade Boys: Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30-6:30

3rd-4th Grade Girls: Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30-7:30

Practices will be held at Sheridan Elementary School or Blackhawk Commons.

Practice will last an hour each and teams will be scheduled for two practices per week. *** Due to large school events at SES some weeks may only allow 1 practice.

GAMES

Games for the league will take place on Saturdays in the Blackhawk Fieldhouse beginning at 11:00 AM.

Games will be two 20 minute halves - running clock.

There will be an end of season tournament on Saturday December 19. The layout of the tournament will be dependent upon how many teams are in each league.

HOLIDAYS

There will be no games played the week of Thanksgiving and any practices offered by coaches that week are OPTIONAL.

Our season is set to end on Saturday December 19 so that it does not carry through Christmas.

PRICING:

The cost of registration is $130.00 per player. The fee goes directly towards insurance, ref fees, uniforms and the purchase of any replacement equipment.

Please keep in mind that there is NO GATE FEE for games.

GAME CHANGER APP

You will be invited to join the Game Changer App via text after your player has been assigned a team.

Practices and games will be uploaded at the beginning of the season into Game Changer.

Coaches will use the app to communicate any changes or important information throughout the season.

WEATHER IMPACTS

The safety of our players is our top priority. SCRI Basketball works directly with Sheridan Community Schools when determining cancellations for after school activities. If the Sheridan Community Schools cancels events due to inclement weather, SCRI Basketball will cancel as well.

LATE REGISTRATION

Our goal is to include every child who wants to participate in our programs. However, registrations received after the registration deadline may require us to place additional orders for uniforms, equipment, and other program materials.

A $25 late registration fee will apply to all registrations submitted after the posted registration deadline. This fee helps cover the additional administrative and ordering costs associated with late registrations.

FALL 2026 SCRI BASKETBALL

5th GRADE BASKETBALL

SEASON: October 19 - December 20

Our 5th grade teams will be playing in the Hoosier Youth Basketball League (HYBL) based out of Grand Park this fall. The HYBL offers competitive games with teams from all around central Indiana.

LOCATIONS

There are multiple locations in which games could be held at:

Pacer’s Athletic Center - Westfield

Noblesville Boys and Girls Club - Noblesville

Mojo Up/Finch Creek - Noblesville

Best Choice Fieldhouse - Fishers

Farmer’s bank Fieldhouse - Lebanon

Teams are placed into different divisions at the beginning of the season based on skill level.

They will also have the opportunity to move up and/or down to other divisions based on how they are playing in their current division.

TEAM SELECTION

Team selection will be determined once registration closes and we know how many players we will have. The SCRI Basketball Committee will determine the best way to split players into teams for the Fall Session. The goal of the SCRI Basketball committee is to give every player the best opportunity to grow and develop. Regardless of how players are placed on teams, the fall session will still give players equal playing time.

**Evaluations are TBD. With the first games occurring the same week that practices begin, we are working through possible evaluation dates prior to October 19.

PRACTICE

5th Grade teams will receive at least two practices a week ranging between 1 - 1.5 hours.

5th grade will take the later practice times available for the week, unless earlier times are available due to extra gym space.

GAMES

Games are scheduled by the HYBL and take place mostly on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. Games will start October 24. Teams will receive a 10 Game season and will possibly be scheduled for multiple games in a day. There will also be an end of season tournament that will take place the Week of December 14. The tournament games will take place any day of that week.

Based on previous experience with the HYBL, games for this league will be posted on Tuesdays or Wednesdays the first couple of weeks. However, by the third week the games are posted over a week in advance.

Qualifying Tournament

The HYBL is also a qualifying league for the Indiana Middle School State tournament that takes place in the late winter/early spring. The tournament is for 3rd - 8th grade teams. If teams rank high enough throughout the HYBL play or win the tournament in their division, they can qualify to participate in the weekend long state tournament.

Attending the State tournament is not a requirement for the season. It is simply a special opportunity to showcase the players skills and allow them to play other teams from all over the State of Indiana.
